Little Known Trevor Bayne Makes NASCAR History With Improbable Daytona 500 Victory Sunday

On July 12, 2008, it was a shy 17-year old from Knoxville, Tenn. who made the frontstretch at Thompson International Speedway the site of his personal coming out party, celebrating his first career victory in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East.

A day after celebrating his 20th birthday, Trevor Bayne pulled off one of the biggest upsets in racing history, taking his Wood Brothers Ford entry to victory lane in the 53rd running of the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway.
