NASCAR on Friday announced the 2011 Whelen Modified Tour schedule and the big surprise came with the news of the addition of a new event at Thompson International Speedway for next year.
New events for next season at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and Delaware Speedway in Delaware, Ont. had already been expected before the official announcement of the schedule, so it was a unique new show at Thompson that proved the only drama left with the schedule announcement.
Thompson will add a fourth Whelen Modified Tour event next year. The show, on Sept. 11, will bring the Whelen Modified Tour and Whelen Southern Modified Tour together for multiple races on one card.
