When Ted Christopher was told by a medical specialist this week that it would be in his best interest to take it easy on his injured right hand, he could only laugh at the request.
Christopher has a championship to chase, and no pain in the hand was going to get in the way of that.
"They told me I'm not supposed to be doing anything with it," Christopher said. 'I was like '[expletive] that.'"
Christopher begins his quest for a second Whelen Modified Tour title this weekend with the division's season opening Icebreaker 150 at Thompson International Speedway. Qualifying for the event is scheduled for Saturday with the race set to run on Sunday.
A hard wreck in the Whelen Southern Modified Tour season opening event on March 13 at Caraway Speedway in Asheboro, N.C. left Christopher nursing his injured right hand.
